The second-hand shopping app has altered its size classifications for women's and children's clothes failing to inform all shoppers about the modification. Social Media Backlash Countless users and merchants are posting online claiming that product pages now present a modified sizing category versus the original listing because of the remapping. The company said the new system was more in line with similar services. They have suggested members to check their listings and update the measurements by hand if necessary, resulting in member annoyance. Size Classification Modifications Before the change, the sizes had both numerical and alphabetical indicators, such as S/8 or M/10. The revised method features a letter with a size spectrum for example S/UK 8-10. With some products, the sizing has been recategorised - like an L measurement was previously a 12 but currently displays as UK 16-18. User Stories Frankie Bridger, who makes TikTok content about plus-size fashion, stated the update "complicates both purchasing and selling". "Rarely do manufacturers list XL as sizes 20-22," as the platform currently indicates. Stephanie Gallen, located in Scotland, said garments she listed with size 14 tags were displaying on the service as measurements 20-22. "Should someone sized 20-22 purchase these they may become frustrated," she said. Necessary Adjustments Charlotte Lunn, located in England, said she had been left angered due to the update requiring manual adjustment the sizes on "every single listing". "Personally, this is quite irritating, as I'm chronically ill and selling on Vinted has been paramount after experiencing income reduction," she said.
